Co-hosted by Trinity College Dublin in Ireland and Zaporizhzhia National University in Ukraine, we proudly present “Art and Memory: Ukrainian-Hongkonger Solidarity Dialogues“, a half-day online cross-community dialogues with scholars and artists from Ukraine and Hong Kong taking place on Friday, 20th November, 2026, from 10am to 2pm (UTC+0: Ireland/UK); 11am to 3pm (CET: Poland); 12 noon to 4pm (UTC+2: Ukraine); 6pm to 10pm (UTC+8: Hong Kong).
Featuring distinguished speakers from Ukrainian and Hongkonger communities, this solidarity dialogues event seeks to explore how the arts in their diverse forms can act as a praxis for both cultural resistance and social resilience in these times of authoritarian aggression. Through dialogues across disciplines with invited scholars and artists who have profound lived experiences of personal and communal activism, this half-day event aims to build solidarity across communities in common suffering, in memory and in celebration of our human struggles as we commemorate the Ukrainian Day of Dignity and Freedom this month.
This event is co-organised by Trinity College Dublin’s Medical and Health Humanities Working Group and Trinity Centre for Resistance Studies, with Zaporizhzhia National University’s Department of Journalism. It is jointly supported by the Maidan Museum (Ukraine), the Art and Culture Hong Kong International (Hong Kong), the Ukrainian House Foundation (Poland), and the University of Warsaw’s Center for Research on Social Memory (Poland).
