Our Founder

Suzette Dance, CEO and President, was born and raised in Virginia and relocated to rural Georgia in 1994 with her three children. Life in rural Georgia was vastly different from life in Virginia for several reasons. First, it was different because there were no immediate relatives in the area to help her with daily living. Second, there were very limited resources in the area to help a single mother of three better her life and the lives of her children.

Growing up in Virginia, Suzette loved to help her granddaddy with whatever he was doing for the day. Whether it was planting trees in the backyard or cleaning the neighborhood church, anyway she could help him she did. Suzette was also a fighter, but the fights she got into were always to protect one of her sisters or cousins. She didn’t like to see them being bullied by other children; therefore, she would defend them and fight their battles. Suzette has always been at her best when she’s giving of herself to help make another person’s life a little bit easier.

Suzette's Professional Headshot

Suzette worked several fast food and retail jobs in rural Georgia but always wanted to work in the social services field. Therefore, after several years of various employment opportunities, she returned to school and obtained several degrees. In 1999, Dance obtained employment with the New Connections to Work Program at Sandersville Technical College. In this position she worked with TANF recipients in assisting them to gain competitive employment, develop appropriate work readiness skills, and build their confidence as single mothers. Suzette enjoyed helping the ladies obtain the resources needed to better their lives and gain their independence. Dance decided she, too, wanted more for her life and the lives of her children. Therefore, in 2003 she enrolled in college while working a full-time and part-time job to support her family. Suzette has earned an Associate Degree in Behavioral Science from Georgia Military College, Bachelor of Science in Religion from Liberty University, and Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University Baptist Theological Seminary over the course of her life.

In 2002, Suzette gained employment with East Central Georgia Consortium. There, she assisted individuals laid-off due to no fault of their own, obtained funding through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA Program) to return to school, assisted with applying for unemployment benefits and other resources, as needed. In 2010, Suzette went to work for Goodwill Industries of Middle Georgia. At Goodwill, she worked with the homeless, single mothers, returning citizens, veterans, senior citizens, and the Vocational Rehabilitation Programs. With the diversity of each of these populations, she was able to help those in need gain access to the services and resources needed to better their lives and the lives of their children.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is what are you doing for others.” This is the quote that Suzette lives by and dedicates her life’s mission to, as she works to improve the lives of those with the most need and marginalized citizens in her community.
